Work… one of the three best predictors for long-term recovery!
Gainful employment is one of the top three predictors of long term sobriety and success based on extensive research conducted by The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (SAMHSA Treatment Improvement Protocol 38). While SAMHSA strongly recommends that vocational services should be an integral part of all substance abuse programs, help of this type is generally not part of most treatment programs.
